Driver CPC Training

The Driver CPC “Driver Certificate of Professional Competence” EU Directive was passed in 2003. This affects all professional LGV and PCV drivers. For new drivers it introduces a new initial qualification, the Driver CPC.

All drivers, new and existing, now have to undertake 35 hours of training every five years to ensure that their Driver CPC remains valid. This is known as Periodic Training.

We are a JAUPT accredited Driver CPC Training Centre and have been delivering Driver CPC Periodic Training courses since 2010.

Operator Licensing

You need an Operator’s Licence to carry goods (or burden) connected with any trade or business if you "USE" a motor vehicle on a road with a gross vehicle mass (weight) of over 3,500 Kg (3.5 tons).

We can assist and support clients with the application and amendments process including licence variations, increases in authorisations, changes of operating centres, ensuring everything is in order before submission of documentation to VOSA.

LGV Training

Through our extensive network of subcontractors we offer geographic coverage of the whole of the UK to provide you with the training you need to become a professional C1, C or C+E driver. You don’t need any previous qualifications; all you need is a UK driving licence and a passion for the open road.

We will coordinate the whole training process: the driver's medical, supply training materials and book the driver onto the theory tests and practical training course.

The Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is a legal requirement for all transport managers, and is in place to ensure those in charge of operations are trained to a professional and competent level.

At Midland Fleet we ensure delivery of the most up-to-date and relevant training as commissioned by the leading UK awarding body, OCR.

Dangerous Goods

The drivers of all vehicles (including those with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes or less) carrying dangerous goods must have an ADR training certificate. There are exemptions for drivers carrying small loads below the threshold limits, drivers carrying dangerous goods packed in limited quantities, and drivers carrying dangerous goods packed in excepted quantities.

We can offer advice and training courses to ensure your company remains fully compliant with the current legislation

Risk Assessment

Midland Fleet can audit all your transport related management systems to ensure legal compliance and efficient vehicle operation in order to cover all requirements of the Traffic Commissioner and VOSA.

Audits can include checks and guidance on tachographs (analogue and digital), Working Time Directive, maintenance systems including defect reporting, safety inspections and calibrations, help to understand, manage and lower your Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS), driver licence checks, safe loading procedures and ADR regulations.
